Issue #22 - PAX Time
Shorter newsletter for my Barty Bros and Babes and Beings, but that doesn't mean we are loafing around. In fact, it's been one of the busier weeks of the year for the game. SO LET'S GET ITTTTT....
Plan for Premium PAX Pressure
PAX East is this weekend in Boston, and... I'm wholly unprepared. I was wishy-washy as to whether I was going to pull the trigger and go, not knowing if it would be worth my time. All I could picture was just sheepishly walking around the convention floor amid huge crowds not knowing anyone and too embarrassed to share my story or meet new people.
This week though I decided to put out a few feelers and see if anyone I know are actually going. Turns out my own brother and best friend are headed there separately on Friday, and I'm going to tag along with them. And it feels SO MUCH better to have someone else I know there too.
I said it before that I don't have a booth, and this will be my first time "representing" Barty in a game space. It's intimidating! But going in as an attendee and just enjoying my time with friends seems to be the way to go. If I make connections, great! If I just have fun, also great!
This definitely takes the pressure off a bit and makes the whole event less daunting. If you're around, definitely reach out and we can meet up!
Demo Update
In all of this conference talk, don't think I lost focus of what's important. The demo is in go-mode, in the hands of testers who have torn it apart this past weekend (in a good way). By releasing updated builds of the demo as time goes on, I'll only be able to make it a tighter experience. And I'm still on schedule for a mid-summer release, so as long as I keep ahead of the bugs and hiccups, it should be a solid experience.

Something Random and Cool
So something completely random, but I had my first ever article published! I wrote about my daughter's absolute OBSESSION with Astro Bot for Patrick Klepek's Crossplay newsletter.

Games (THIS KEEPS GROWING): Finally done with Blue Prince, and onto Expedition 33. Also picked Pokemon Scarlet back up committing to finish it, bugs and all.
Books: Through Mickey7 (what a crazy thought-out world), and onto the Ministry of Time (which is a romcom? How didn't I know this?)
Shows: The Last of Us, Friends and Neighbors, The Studio, The Rehearsal (not much relaxing TV recently!)
